Our Smithfield Plant requires a Maintenance Engineer to ensure the site remains operating at optimal levels.

This role is a permanent position, reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.


Day to day responsibilities include:
The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

o Health and Safety - Follow and comply with all company Health and Safety Requirements including the completion of all permits to work
o Completing all hands-on engineering tasks as and when required. This may include working shifts from time to time.
o Work with external suppliers and contractors when required.

Key skills and experience required:
Requirements for this role include:

o Health and Safety must be priority
o Level 4 Trade Certificate or Similar
o Experience in a Manufacturing Environment an advantage
o Experience with checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment and systems.
o Ability to work within a computerised maintenance system
o Ability to work under pressure. Our processing lines are all continuous process
o Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
o Experience with Condition Monitoring
o An understanding of Continuous Improvement 

We are a medium sized plant with 2 Ovine Chains, 1 Venison chain and all ancillary operations. Running 24 hours a day there is never a dull moment and always plenty of variety of work.
