Seasonal Processing Workers - Nelson Plant

Published: 12/12/2019
Job Location: Stoke / Nelson / New Zealand Job Type: Contract Work Type: Full Time Category: Manufacturing & Operations
Alliance Group Ltd is New Zealand's only 100% farmer owned major red meat co-operative, we're here to get the best product for our consumers, and best value for our shareholders.

We have seasonal positions available for Meat Process Workers at our Nelson plant to process sheep and lamb into cuts of meat, that will end up on plates all over the world. Potential to move to other plants in the North and South Islands.

Ideally you'd have a butchery qualification or NZQA (Slaughter or boning) but if not, join us as a labourer and we can support you in training with the potential to earn unit standard qualifications to grow and recognise your skills. We have the ability to provide opportunities to join a great team, and the chance to move up the ranks if you that is what motivates you.

The work is seasonal - you'll work anywhere from 6 to 11 months for a good income, then have a break before starting again next season. We'd even look at shorter contracts, especially at the peak of the season.

You'll be the kind of person who:
1. has a reasonable level of fitness,
2. can work in a safe manner,
3. has a good attendance history,
4. be able to follow instructions and ask for assistance if unsure,
5. has a strong good work ethic and enjoys working in a team.

In return, we pay well for the right people, and provide the chance to get trained in new skills and qualifications. Most of all, though, there's opportunity to grow a career, if that's what you want.
Apply online today. Please note: We are only taking early expressions of interest at this time and should we progress your application, we will get in touch with you after our recruitment campaign starts in September.

With our ongoing commitment to health and safety, you'll need to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment, including a drug test that will form part of your application.

If you believe you have the skills and experience to be successful in this role, then we want you to join the Alliance Nelson Team.
